Allow upgrades to certain room types to give your guests a chance to upgrade their room type during the booking process.
When moving through the steps of the reservation process your guests will be then given an option of upgrading.
If you wish to allow updates for certain room types, please follow the below instructions for both - room types to upgrade from and room types to upgrade to.
NOTE:
To enable rooms for room upgrade, the following conditions must be met:
- Rooms need to have same number of max number of occupants
- Its counterpart must have higher price
To enable one room type to be upgraded from one room type to another (ie for Double to be upgraded to Superior Double):
- Find the room type you wish to activate upgrades for
- Click on edit to make changes
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page
- Tick the box “allow upgrades to this room type”
The system will calculate the upgrade price based on availability and rates for the requested date, you do not need to insert an upgrade value in the box, simply keep it at 0:
To enable upgrades to certain room type (ie Superior Double from Double):
- Make sure to also find the room type you want to upgrade to
- Click on edit to make changes
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page
- Tick the box “allow upgrades to this room type”
Repeat the same step for other room types you allow upgrades to.
Your guests will now be asked if they want to upgrade their room type after selecting the date and choosing their rateplan and room type, in step 2 of the reservation process:
They can then select if they wish to avail of the upgrade and continue to the third step of the booking process.
