As you may have already heard, Chat GPT and other AI language models are making waves across the digital landscape.
What is Chat GPT?
Chat GPT is a large language model developed by OpenAI, which uses deep learning techniques that allow the model to understand and generate human-like responses to a user’s query or input.
This allows the model to produce a wide range of text-based outputs, including basic queries, email responses, chat, codes, blogs, stories, translations, summaries, and more. Among other things, this makes it an effective content writing and research tool.
How does it work?
Chat GPT has been trained by massive datasets across the internet from a variety of text sources including books, articles and websites.
Who are their competitors?
As this technology continues to advance and learn, so too do its competitors and partners. Having invested in OpenAI early on, Microsoft launched the New Bing and Edge in early February, referring to the technology as an AI “co-pilot for the web”.
Further to Microsoft’s public launch, Google introduced Bard, Google’s answer to the AI language model.
As described by Google CEO, Sundar Picahi: “Bard seeks to combine the breadth of the world’s knowledge with the power, intelligence and creativity of our large language models. It draws on information from the web to provide fresh, high-quality responses. Bard can be an outlet for creativity, and a launchpad for curiosity.”
Although Bard is still in Beta testing, there is no doubt that these tech giants will continue to advance and refine AI-powered models and their capabilities.
Still in its infancy, this technology will likely continue to raise eyebrows as we learn more of its capabilities, limitations and benefits. However, the technology is already causing a massive shift in the digital landscape and has the power to change how we interact with the web in the very near future.
