What is the unassigned traffic channel in my traffic report?

Google Analytics uses unassigned when there are no other channels that match the event data. In most cases, this clears up within 24 - 48 hours after the event happens and the traffic gets assigned to another channel, i.e. if you were to look at the same report with the same date frame tomorrow, unassigned may be gone.

In cases where Google is unable to identify the channel, the traffic will remain as unassigned.
